... sounds ripe for skiing!
Happy new year! Hope yours was OK! I was at a Chinese restaurant with about 30 others - was quite a nice sized group. I may write more about it later - but since it's a friend's friend's restaurant and some of us got food poisioning after eating there I'll have to be quite careful - don't really believe in using the internet to fling accusations at others.
... continuted ...
... so on the 31st I was out with Mrinmoy and Kim, and dragged Andrea and some of her uni friends along. After the chinese meal, I strolled about with Andrea and her friends, and visited "Lisa's favourite" ice-cream shop... mmmm! Tis quite good when you can get into nice places on NYE easily - although it ended up having a much reduced menu!
So twas quite an early evening, really... home by 3am on the 1st. That day I dragged myself out to Glynn and Kelly's place (Lee's brother and nearly-sister-in-law) at Watford. We played pictionary.... which I love... but it was even better cos Kelly has a huge easel and paper that she uses teaching - all plays with huge pens are so much more fun!
So like I mentioned before, being ill wasn't good - I ate a huge dinner at Kellys, and didn't have too much to drink - everyone was making fun of me the next morning - but they weren't convinced when I mentioned "I'm not hung over, I'm ill". I had to miss a Dim Sum lunch with Linn, and Katies birthday drinks... which was really disappointing... but at least I recovered quickly enough. A couple of days later I took Andrea to accident and emergency - she hadn't been able to eat anything for four days! She was fine in the end, but as you can imagine quite knocked about. Mrin mentioned that some people had commented about the wine being bad... so perhaps that was something to do with it, as food poisioning normally happens much quicker than 36 hours after eating!
So at least I'm well now (in mid Feb, finishing this entry)... after flu, food poisioning and a couple of colds in the last few months I think I'm finally out of the woods :-)
