Hello All
I’ve finished work! I was marking, catching up and tidying this week, so it’s been quite a normal week – except the students have been more hyperactive than normal. On Thursday we had the staff end of term party – I’ve uploaded the photos already! It was quite crazy – I sang tons of karaoke songs… Mustang Sally, Crocodile Rock, Summer Nights with Miriam, Delilah backing up for Neil, I Will Survive(??) with Pete, Simon, and Aaron? The audience was spectacular, dancing and cheering– I’mm used to singing around uni friends they’re like – “errr … he’s singing Elton… let’s get outta here!” So twas good to have an appreciative audience for a change!
Yesterday we broke up at 1pm, and had lunch and farewells at the hall. After crashing on the couch and sleeping for about 4 hours (my room is just next door to the TV room – I really need to stop sleeping on the couch!), I zipped off to Clark’s going away party. He’s off to Bath to teach next year… the party was really crazy! The theme was underground stations. He had some DJ friends mixing music, and we danced and drank until sunrise… I ended up leaving at 8:30am and bought a big cooked breakfast before crashing for a few more hours.
I met a girl from Adelaide last night – Robyn Palmer (I think). She went to Brighton and had Mitch Brunsden as a violin teacher there! She said she knew (or knew of) Andy Ey, and knows Emma Perkins… hah! Small world.
So now it’s Sat afternoon… I have to go online and organise some accommodation and some travel insurance, and find a place with live music for a drink with housemates tonight. Finally I’m getting some washing done, so I’ll be on the way towards being tidy enough to pack! Phew… I’ll be glad to be in that resort in Bali, I can tell you!
OK… take care all – Hope to catch up with many of you soon! I’m thinking of having a big party on Sat Aug 9th- perhaps at the Ruby Room? Let me know if you can’t make it or if you can think of a better venue (At least the Ruby Room has a big dancefloor, decent music and seating!).
Cheers!
