Moving, Lekky Gadgets & Social Stuff...

Hello All!

Heyy Laptops are kewl. I'm sitting on the couch typing away, not really watching the TV which is on in the corner... I've actually taken tons of steps to reduce my TV watchage... they're not really working!! Haha but I'm sure they will over time.

My new house is big! Can't believe I haven't written an entry since I moved in! Sorry for being so slack!

Let's start at my moving weekend... I actually took 2 days to move (did I tell you that before??) but I managed to do it in only 2 trips! My poor bag - the first trip I took all my clothes, except the big stuff, which meant that in the 2nd trip I took my quilt/duna/duvet, a pillow and 3 jackets just in the main section of my bag... it was nearly bursting at the seams! Add to that that I had 3 smaller backpacks hanging off my shoulders, and all manner of things strapped to the outside of my main pack!

NEWS FLASH! Mrinmoy just saved us from dehydration... I got home around 6:30 and Lisa already had the heater on... it's after 10:30 now and it's been going constantly... Mrin just asked "are you guys hot??" haha... OK maybe you had to be here... I spose that's the problem with laptops for you all - you're going to have to put up with perhaps more useless dribble.

OK, it's two days since I wrote the content above... the battery on the laptop is a bit dead - so will still have to be plugged in when I write emails, but at least I can do it from home!

School is great. Found out today a bit more about my training programme (which won't start properly until after half term). It could be quite a lot of work - and I'm doing a full teaching load at the same time which is quite unusual!

OK... now it's Monday. I guess the annoying thing about doing this at work is I can only do a snippet at a time. So, summarise mode:

I bought a keyboard! A 76 key Yamaha that sounds not quite as good as my Roland at home... luckily cos this way I won't have to drag it back to Australia! I bought it the day after I picked up my UK credit card.... errr yepp scary stuff! At least after being payed for the first time I can cover all my expenses now - worked out that I have $14,000AUD credit limit combined between everything... tis kinda scary!

Candace is coming over on Wednesday! So finally you'll be able to see some photos of us together... Haha haven't told you much about her but I believe the grape vine is working to some extent :-) She's over until Monday, then heading up to Scotland for a few days, then coming back for a weekend before returning to work in France. Maybe I should scan the photo of her chalet... it looks pretty amazing!

Ohh yesterday I was in central London - there were huge CNY celebrations in Trafalgar square - people were throwing those popping things on the ground everywhere and everyone had red balloons... was atmospheric, but still not the same as walking Northbridge surrounded by Asian people celebrating! I've not yet found people or places to eat dim sum, so that was a bit disappointing as well!

Anyway, I went for a stroll all down Oxford street, the main shopping street, then all the way back - found these cute couple of streets - Neal st which is a little mall thing, and saw Covent Garden Markets which are really nice. I keep buying too many clothes! Just this weekend I bought 3 jumpers and a jacket! All bargains though :-)
