A new photo gallery category! I'll rearrange all the photos into this category soon. I'll probably also backdate the photos so they later appear in the right order.
Anyway, here's some scottish pics.

edinburghcastle.jpg
I didn't go into the castle... I was saving money that day. This view is from the doorway of my youth hostel, "Castle Rock". :-) It was a pretty good hostel, actually.
glasgowgeorgesq.jpg
Oooh I really liked this building, on one corner of George Sq. Glasgow was quite "normal" after super-touristy-sleepy-Edinburgh. Might be a good place to go and look for work later. Hrrrmmm work... nahh don't want to think about that yet!
bridge.jpg
Hrmm... now I think this bridge is over the river at Glasgow. I was just walking the city for a few hours, after returning from Motherwell. Turned out better than I expected.
nightpic.jpg
Another night pic... This one is of an old school? I just thought it looked kewl.
loch.jpg
Ahhh loch... coffee... paradise :-)
loch2.jpg
The view from the coffee spot was really good!
sunmountain.jpg
The filename says it all. Notice that there are no trees (in any photo of scottish mountains?) The Vikings cut them to make their big boats (yess dem horned helmet guys) and the English cut the rest down for other things. It looks normal after a while, but the polish tatras with trees looked much more natural!
headwet.jpg
Brrr... cold and refreshing. I stuck my head in for 5 seconds, and accidently started some competition where ppl went in for 10, 15, 20 secs... oops!
sword.jpg
Ker-Ching! Well more like *thuk*... cheap plastic swords! Shame we didn't hold the flag so it could be seen properly.
upthere.jpg
Haha... yess there was some story about an old man and woman.... and they talked to the fairies etc etc (insert a graeme fairy story here) but the old man fell down. Awww.
oops.jpg
Haha... I was in the side closest to the edge of the road. It felt worse than it looked from our side! The ground was quite peaty so we didn't really drive into a hole, but a hole opened up under the wheels....
2therescue.jpg
OK... now THAT's a tow truck! Should've heard the grating sound of the winch of a 4wd that tried to drag us out. ieeeeeh!
castle1.jpg
castle2.jpg
We stayed here!! Twas really kewl. Why didn't I get any photos of the inside??
teamcanada.jpg
Ahhh yes. There were more canadians than Aussies! They were cool, loud, and energetic. Come On! :-)
comeon.jpg
Ohh yepp I need to insert Come On! :-) here too. This was the last night, after we saw nessy and heard Blair play the bagpipes.
lastday.jpg
The whole group.
guides.jpg
The crazy guides.
They are some very very cool photos you got there Sam, one thing though... NO LOCHNESS MONSTER!
I was looking closely at one of the photos and i think I found it! Check it

Great photos, it is good to see Team Canada has made the web. I am looking forward to reading more about your trip. I am willing to admit it I am jealous of your travels. I wish I was anywhere but here at work, but I guess I have to pay for the great vacation some how.

Posted by: Steve on October 2, 2002 01:27 AMHey Sam!
Great pictures. And I know you saw Nessie. Noone here believes me either! Makes me wistful for vacation days though, being back at work just isn't as exciting. Have fun, stay safe, and keep posting!
And if you make it to Canada, let me know, there's always a place for you to stay at our place.
PS Cool on Team Canada getting their very own picture:-)
